The Design Process Behind Dose
Exploring the research, ideation, and prototyping journey that shaped the Dose medication system.
Starting with Research
Every design project begins with understanding the problem. For Dose, that meant diving deep into medication nonadherence — talking to patients, pharmacists, and doctors to understand the gaps in the current system.
What We Learned
Users want something simple, portable, and intelligent. They don't want another complex device to manage — they want something that fits seamlessly into their lives.
The Prototyping Phase
We iterated through dozens of form factors, exploring different geometries, materials, and interaction patterns. Each prototype taught us something new about how people interact with medication.
Lessons Learned
- Start rough, iterate fast
- Test with real users early
- Constraints drive creativity
- Simplicity is the hardest thing to achieve
The Dose project reminded me that good design isn't about adding features — it's about removing friction until only the essential remains.
